See Istanbul’s legends from a different perspective with Echoes of Istanbul, a live theatrical show combining aerial acrobatics, digital visuals and dramatic storytelling.
Inspired by stories connected to some of Istanbul’s most recognizable landmarks and characters, the performance takes the audience from Galata Tower and the flight of Hezarfen to the waters of the Bosphorus and the mysterious world of Medusa beneath the Basilica Cistern.
Live aerial performance is synchronized with digital ghost-screen technology, creating scenes where the performer appears to interact directly with the projected environments.
The show lasts approximately 60 minutes without an intermission and takes place at the Legends of Istanbul stage in Sultanahmet.

Echoes of Istanbul combines aerial acrobatics, theatrical performance and digital stage technology to tell stories inspired by Istanbul’s history and legends.
The show focuses on some of the characters and places that have become part of the city’s identity. The performance moves between stories associated with Galata Tower and Hezarfen Ahmed Çelebi, the waters of the Bosphorus, and Medusa beneath the Basilica Cistern.
Rather than presenting these stories as a traditional historical tour, Echoes of Istanbul uses movement and visual storytelling. An aerial performer moves above the stage using swings, rotations and suspended choreography while projected environments change around the performance.
One of the main features of the show is its ghost-screen technology. Digital imagery is synchronized with the live performance, allowing the aerial performer and projected scenes to appear as part of the same stage environment.
The choreography is created by Emir Buhari, a Cirque du Soleil artist, with aerial performance forming the central element of the production.
The show lasts approximately 60 minutes and runs continuously without an intermission. It takes place at the Legends of Istanbul stage in Sultanahmet, close to Hagia Sophia and other major landmarks of the Historic Peninsula.
Echoes of Istanbul can be a good addition to an afternoon in Sultanahmet for visitors who want to experience Istanbul’s stories through live performance rather than a conventional museum or sightseeing tour.
