Harem was the private house of the women who were in relationships with the Sultan. As a private section of the palace, Topkapı Harem Section was available only to the family of the Sultan and his concubines. Even though it is portrayed as a sex dungeon, Harem was in fact a school that endowed women with art and science as these women not only entertained the Sultan but also brought up the future sultans.
